February's Bitter Cold and Deep Snow

The snow is deep in the woods.  After a recent storm  we found deer tracks in our front yard, looking for food.  One actually lay down to rest in the morning sun. Deep snow keeps me from walking up into the woods to check the trail camera.
I should give snowshoes  a try, actually. The batteries are probably dead in this extended cold spell.
